Best Beaches on the West Side of 30A: A Local Guide to 30A Beaches
If you're staying with us on the west end of 30A, congratulations—you picked a very good side of the beach.
The west end has some of our favorite beach accesses along 30A, and the best part is that they each have a little personality of their own. Some are better for families and all the beach gear. Some are great for a quick sunset walk. Some are perfect if you're cruising around by golf cart.
And because we've learned that knowing which beach access to use can make or break your beach day, we're sharing our Stay Days favorites.
Because nobody wants to spend 45 minutes looking for parking while the kids are melting down in the backseat. 😂
Fort Panic — Dune Allen Beach
5753 W. Scenic Highway 30A
If you want the easy button, Fort Panic is a great place to start.
This is one of the larger regional beach accesses on the west end, with parking, restrooms, showers and an ADA-accessible route to the beach. It's especially handy when you've got a crew and a serious amount of beach equipment.
And by serious, we mean the classic vacation setup: chairs, umbrella, cooler, toys, towels, snacks, more snacks and somehow a boogie board nobody remembers bringing.
Why we love it: It's practical. It's easy. And sometimes that's exactly what you want.
Best for: Families, bigger groups, accessibility and full-on beach days.
Stay Days tip: Go early during peak season. The parking situation gets much less relaxing once everyone else has the same idea.
Ed Walline Beach Access
4447 W. County Highway 30A
If you're staying around Gulf Place, (like at a Stay Days vacation rental, hint, hint), this one is a no-brainer.
Ed Walline is one of those beach accesses where you can easily turn “we're going to the beach for a couple hours” into an entire day.
Beach first. Lunch nearby. Maybe a cold drink. Maybe ice cream. Maybe back to the beach because nobody is ready to leave yet.
That's a very 30A kind of day.
The access has parking, restrooms, showers, ADA accessibility and a viewing area overlooking the Gulf.
Why we love it: Convenience. Convenience. Convenience.
Best for: Families, groups and anyone who likes having food and fun close by.
Stay Days tip: This is a popular access, so don't wait until noon to start thinking about parking. Morning beach runs are your friend.
Gulfview Heights Beach Access

This one feels a little more like a local beach day.
Gulfview Heights has parking, restrooms, showers and a covered pavilion with picnic tables and grills. The access to the beach is via stairs, so it's not the one we'd choose if we're bringing every piece of beach equipment known to mankind.
But if you're looking for a beautiful stretch of beach and a slightly more relaxed vibe, it's a favorite.
Why we love it: It has that “we found a good spot” feeling.
Best for: Families, picnics, sunset watching and a more laid-back beach day.
Stay Days tip: Pack light if you're using this access. Your future self will thank you when you're carrying everything back up those stairs.
Blue Mountain Beach Access
2365 S. Scenic Highway 83
Blue Mountain is one of those 30A spots that makes us say, “Yep. This is why people come here.”
The beach is beautiful, the vibe is relaxed, and you've got restaurants and treats nearby when everyone inevitably decides they're starving 20 minutes after arriving.
The regional access has parking, restrooms and showers, although the parking area is relatively small and the access involves stairs.
Why we love it: It's a great combination of beach + everything else that makes Blue Mountain fun.
Best for: Families, couples, sunset lovers and anyone who wants to explore the Blue Mountain area.
Stay Days tip: If you're driving, early is the move. If you're staying nearby, we'd much rather see you arrive by bike or golf cart.
🌴 Spooky Lane
Here's where things get a little more Stay Days insider-y.
Spooky Lane is a smaller neighborhood-style access without the big regional parking lot and amenities.
And that's exactly why we like having these little accesses in your back pocket.
If you're staying nearby, you can walk, bike or cruise over, park and get straight to the sand without turning the whole thing into a production.
Why we love it: Small, simple and convenient when you're nearby.
Best for: Nearby guests, sunset walks and anyone traveling light.
Stay Days tip: Don't drive across 30A just to use Spooky Lane. Parking is limited. This is a “we're staying close” access—not a “let's see what happens” parking strategy. 😉
West Allen Loop
If you've got a golf cart or bikes, (those come with a Stay Days Vacation Rental, had to get our plug in again), pay attention to this one.
West Allen Loop is a smaller beach access with no regular car parking, but it does have parking for bikes and low-speed vehicles.
And this is exactly why we love having wheels on 30A.
You don't have to compete for a traditional parking space. You can cruise over, lock up your bike or park the golf cart and head to the beach.
Easy.
Why we love it: It's made for the 30A lifestyle.
Best for: Golf carts, bikes and guests staying nearby.
Stay Days tip: One of our favorite vacation moves is loading up the golf cart with beach chairs and heading out early. No parking drama. Just vacation.
Lake Causeway
Another little Dune Allen option worth knowing.
Lake Causeway is a smaller access with limited parking, so we'd consider this more of a nearby guest access than somewhere we'd recommend driving to from across 30A.
But if you're staying close and have bikes or a golf cart, it can be a nice alternative to the larger regional accesses.
Why we love it: Sometimes smaller is better.
Best for: Guests staying nearby who want a simple beach access.

Here's our biggest piece of advice:
Don't overthink it.
You're on 30A.
The Gulf is gorgeous. The sand is soft. And there's a good beach day waiting for you.
But if you're staying during the busy season, a little strategy goes a long way.
Go early.
This is our number-one tip.
Early mornings are cooler, the beach is quieter and parking is much easier.
Bonus: sunrise on the Gulf is pretty spectacular.
Use your wheels.
If your Stay Days home comes with access to bikes or a golf cart, use them!
Some of the best little beach accesses aren't designed for cars, and cruising around 30A is half the fun anyway.
Pack the essentials.
Sunscreen. Water. Towels. Snacks. Sunglasses.
And maybe one fewer beach toy than you think you need.
Trust us.

The Gulf can be beautiful and powerful at the same time. Check the current beach flags and follow all posted safety instructions before getting in the water.
Use the walkovers.
Those dunes are part of what makes 30A so beautiful—and they're protecting the coastline. Always use the designated beach access and walkover.

One of the reasons we love the west end of 30A is that you don't have to spend your entire vacation chasing the “perfect” beach.
You've got choices.
Maybe today is Fort Panic with the whole crew.
Tomorrow you're cruising to Blue Mountain for a slower beach morning.
And the next night you're grabbing the golf cart for a sunset walk at a smaller neighborhood access.
That's the beauty of staying on 30A.
