Alys Beach

The architecture is a huge part of the experience here, with white buildings, courtyards, palms and beautifully designed spaces.

Seaside
Best for: First-time 30A visitors, families & classic 30A charm
Seaside might be the community that comes to mind first when someone says “30A.”
And for good reason.
It has the iconic town center, colorful beach cottages, food trucks, restaurants, shops and plenty of places to wander.
It’s also famously recognizable from The Truman Show, which was filmed there.
Seaside is particularly appealing for families because there’s a lot to do without having to go far.
You can walk around town, grab something to eat, head to the beach and come back for ice cream without turning every activity into a car trip.
The vibe: classic 30A, colorful, walkable and family-friendly.
Consider Seaside if: you want that quintessential 30A experience and love having a lot within walking distance.
WaterColor
Best for: Families, nature & resort-style amenities
Just next door to Seaside, WaterColor has a different personality.
There’s a strong connection to nature here, with trails, greenery, lakes and access to outdoor activities.

Blue Mountain Beach is one of our favorite areas for travelers who want to experience 30A without feeling like they’re in the middle of everything.
It has a relaxed residential feel while still putting you close to restaurants, the beach and other 30A communities.
And yes, despite the name, there isn't actually a mountain.
The name comes from the area's blue-flowering lupine.
Blue Mountain is also a great jumping-off point for exploring both the eastern and western ends of 30A.
The vibe: relaxed, local-feeling and family-friendly.
Consider Blue Mountain Beach if: you want a quieter home base without feeling isolated.
Gulf Place
Best for: Families, groups, walkability & an easy vacation
Now we’re getting to our neck of the woods. 🌴
Stay Days on 30A is located in Gulf Place, and one of the reasons we love this area is that it makes vacation feel…well…easy.

Gulf Place sits toward the western end of 30A, near the border of Santa Rosa Beach and close to Dune Allen and Blue Mountain Beach.

Because nobody flies to the beach hoping to spend their vacation looking at the back of a rental SUV.

Gulf Place is especially great for groups
If you're traveling with grandparents, siblings, cousins, friends or multiple families, location becomes even more important.
You want everyone close enough to spend time together—but not so close that everyone is sitting on top of each other.

The vibe: peaceful, natural and low-key.
Consider Dune Allen if: you want to slow things down and enjoy a quieter stretch of 30A.
East 30A vs. West 30A
One of the easiest ways to narrow down your options is to think about whether you want to stay on East 30A or West 30A.
Neither is “better.” They simply offer different experiences.
